For someone who didn’t really know the story, the details of what happened really interested me
Chronology
During the 1972 Munich Olympics, an American sports television crew was forced to cover a hostage crisis involving Israeli athletes. The performances are believable, the comedy in the right places, and the pace and duration don’t leave you peeking for the exit before the checkout rush hour.
They did a solid job of not telegraphing plot points
Some will find the lack of change of scenery tiring, but I think it worked in this case. I think they wanted you to feel like the control room was your world and to feel like them on this eventful day.
It makes you think, without being preachy
They touched the political and emotional elements beautifully. Mixing footage from the actual event, including broadcast footage, definitely draws you more into the experience.
While it’s not a movie I really intend to watch over and over again, it’s a very well-made piece that I’d recommend to friends who enjoy these types of movies
